Meet Nicole Gouthro

founder and principal designer.

After nearly a decade of experience in residential and boutique commercial design, Nicole launched La Côte Design to pursue a more personal and intentional approach to her work. Her style is rooted in timeless design principles, blending old-world character with modern living to create spaces that are layered and inviting.

Nicole approaches each project with intention and care, designing homes that support the rhythm of daily life while reflecting who you are. She understands that creating a home can feel overwhelming, and brings a calm, confident presence to the process, guiding each decision with clarity. Supported by a strong technical foundation, she brings each vision to life from concept through completion, resulting in cohesive, sophisticated interiors that feel personal, collected, and lived in.

La Côte translates to “the coast” in French, a reflection of Nicole’s French Canadian heritage and the Southern California coastline she now calls home. The name captures the quiet elegance of European coastal living and the ease of life by the water. It represents the heart of the studio’s philosophy: interiors inspired by culture, travel, and timeless coastal beauty.
